There is a moment before every class begins.
A quiet settling. A soft arrival.
Bodies enter the room, but so do stories—some spoken, many not.
As a teacher, I’ve come to understand that people don’t just come to move. They come carrying seasons of their life. Change, loss, growth, uncertainty… and sometimes, a quiet hope that something might begin to shift.
What unfolds in the space is not just Pilates or Yoga…
It is connection.
It is presence.
Connection isn’t loud or forced. It lives in the small things—learning someone’s rhythm, noticing when energy feels low, offering encouragement at just the right moment. It’s in creating a space where each person feels safe and seen, without needing to explain why they walked through the door.
Presence is what allows that connection to deepen.
In a world that constantly pulls us outward, presence invites us back in. Back into the body. Back into the breath. Back into a quieter, steadier place within ourselves. It’s here that strength is built—not just physically, but internally.

Over time, I’ve witnessed what can happen when people give themselves permission to pause and stay present. To not rush. To not give up. To keep showing up, even when it feels uncomfortable.
Deborah’s words reflect this in a way I could never fully articulate myself:
“I continue to come alive after starting Pilates with Sofija.
I am a much stronger 63-year young single lady who moved from the Sunshine Coast (to semi-rural Gympie) two years ago due to trauma.
I left behind my community and sold my home. I gained 20kgs and wasn’t in a good place mentally and physically.
I joined Sofija’s class and almost gave up due to my brokenness. Nope, I’m happy to say I pushed through!
Today I give praise to Sofija for her:
- Professionalism in her Pilates teaching.
- Compassion and listening skills when guiding her students with differing levels of fitness.
- Encouragement when she senses you need it.
- Intelligence and personable speak when sharing after class.
- Her bright eyes that smile along with her laugh.
- Her physical presentation which shows her commitment to her art/passion.
YOU are appreciated Sofija and I’m forever grateful.”
– Deborah K. 🖤
Her experience is not about perfection or performance. It’s about reconnection—to self, to strength, and to something deeper that often gets lost along the way.
This is the heart of what I offer.
A space to return to yourself.
A space to be supported.
A space where presence becomes the foundation, and connection follows naturally.
If you’ve been feeling disconnected—from your body, your energy, or yourself—know that there is a different way to begin again.
Gently.
Slowly.
With intention.
And perhaps, like Deborah, you may just find yourself coming alive again. I believe movement is medicine.
Much Love, Gratitude and Living xx
